  3. Bengang dengan rakan sekelas.
Kamu rasa, nak dengar cerita yang mana satu dulu ye?

Szakif Loves Danial

I've seen people establishing blogs for their children. But since I haven't got one (duh~) while I have Danial whom I love so much, here I establish a blog about him and his life as a little naughty growing up boy.

This blog can be a memory for him when he's grown up one day, from my view. I hope he'll appreciate what I do now for this is nothing but as a symbol of love between Szakif and Danial.

So here I present you: Szakif Loves Danial.

It's not All About Me

Maybe to new readers, you still don't get the nature of my writing. Give yourselves some time to learn the trick behind my writing. It's not always all about me when I write about something.

What usually I aim when I post entries in this blog is for readers to connect what they read to themselves. For example, referring to the previous entry, it's not all about me whom involve in such instances. You may yourselves connect to the entry if you find anything related to you. Don't you?

I got few messages through YM and in fact through the comment room asking what really happened behind the scene that made me write such so-called full-of-emotion entry. Well, to me it depends on how you read it. That's the problem with words, they lack emotion. The emotion comes from readers and it varies on how they take it.

You like me to write such thing more and more, or not?

Bolog: Be Careful

Since I opened the Bolog blog, I have to be really careful with my spoken words. Huhu...

There are always people around me who always care with what I'm saying. Thanks for posting it in the blog. Haha!

Anonymity is a Blessing

If you notice, I allow anonymous comments to be posted in my comment rooms and I put no word verification to ease the sending of comments and feedback for myself and most importantly for my readers. True, I was attacked by spam few times but that's still under control. Well, what's with this blog other than just a blog?

However, that doesn't mean readers and commentators could do anything they want; posting threat, unethical comments, fraud etc. Please people, internet is just like our real life: we have to be ethical, disciplined, well-mannered and you can name other adjectives that tell you have to be nice even if it comes to writing in the internet.

Like few cases that happened recently, I myself have been attacked with few threats in one of my entries (not to be specified) that he/she sent curse and slander, but alhamdulillah, after dealing with the attacker nicely, he/she stopped the immoral comments. Like the case in this blog, the commentator(s) sent shoutouts that basically tried to give advise, but unfortunately in the wrong way (see the image above). One thing is that, he/she was anonymous (although he/she named himself/herself with few names); and two is that, what sent were completely unethical.

Do you think by doing so would bring any good?
Come on, face the life and be real.

For those who have been attacked with such things in the internet, first thing first; do not be panic. Relax. That's just another challenge in your life. Second, do not fight back but deal with it calmly. You may choose to be silent and you may also choose to reply what he/she said about you but never challenge him/her with anything like saying "who do you think you are to say that?" or worse. What you need to do as a first step of dealing with this thing, is to guide him/her towards solution, not towards other problem. If he/she does has personal problems with you, tell him/her to solve them behind the scene, not to let the public to know your problems. Email is the best way to solve such online problem; the commentator can still hide him/herself behind anonymity and you can exchange emails in order to discuss and solve the problem.

Yes, anonymity is a blessing in the internet but use it wisely.

Bologs

Have you ever heard the word "bologs"?

When I was active in Angklung Club last time in Gombak, we have this special white board to record all bologs mentioned by the members of the club. It was nothing but to create some fun although the fact is there's someone being laughed at. But hey, when you have a kind of bond with close friends, you wouldn't mind being laughed at right? Through fun, strong friendship bond could be gained isn't it? I personally admit that the bologs thing did bring some value to my relationship with the club members.

Now, in Kuantan, I make friend with his friends whom I found have quite some similarities with friends in Gombak, they easily slip when talking. Everytime, we they slipped, we remember and we repeat it again and again and also we laugh again and again. Haha!

Therefore, not to forget the bologs, I create a new blog (duh~ not another one?) entitled Kau Silap Cakap, Kami Tulis with the url http://blogbologs.blogspot.com. So far there are 3 authors for the blog, you wanna join? Send me your email address so that you'll be able to post your friends' bologs. But this one thing I'd like to remind: do not humiliate people by mentioning their names. Diam-diam sudey~. Hehe...

Simple Tips to Make the Picture in Your Blog Looks Better

Did you notice most of the pictures in the previous entries are edited?

Like the above picture, the left mate spoils the picture, so cropping is essential and I adjust the color so that it looks better. Could you spot other difference?

Again, cropping plays a role in making this picture looks better besides adjusting the color. I try to make the color of the trunk looks more prominent and to make the picture looks like I climb a tall tree.

Don't worry. You don't need highly competent skill in using designing software like Photoshop. You just need a software called Microsoft Office Picture Manager which comes together when you install Microsoft Office software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Powerpoint etc). You open the file and edit the brightness and color of your picture. Cropping would be best to choose the wanted parts of the picture that you admire most and thus get rid of the unwanted parts.

Try one now!

Blog as Résumé

Blogs have been a new medium for youngsters of this generation to speak their minds out. Even primary school students may write their own blog due to the ease in establishing one. In fact, many university students in these recent years have adopted blogging as their hobby, and to further extent as an alternative way to gaining some cash. They’ve involved in online business and become rich despite the fact that they are studying in university i.e. the factory for future professional workers.

For some bloggers, they’ve made and built a creatively professional look in their blog for charisma and personality to be reflected right from the very first sight and further from the contents of the blog.

Some others just write blog for fun; it’s no more than just an online diary to express their feeling, anger, happiness, friendship, daily living and etcetera that they don’t mind what their blog would benefit them in long term run.

But do you know: despite of just being a diary readable for people all around the world, you can change your blog into a proof? A proof of your résumé!

Most of the time, bloggers write what matters to their daily life. If politics is their passion, for example, they’ll write everything about it and then share with other readers who share the same passion. Not limited to that, the discussion proceeds in the comment rooms through exchange of thoughts and opinions. The same goes to everything written in your blog: religious matters, travelling, science, entertainment, tips and others. The thoughts jotted down in the blog posts would be, to an extent, reflections of the personality and characters of the bloggers.

Therefore, how would these writings turn to be a proof? Since you’re writing what matters in your life, this could be the proof of the details stated in your résumé when you apply for a job. Most of the time, particulars like personal background, interests, hobbies, and skills are essential to be mentioned in résumé as employers would know what type of people they’ll be hiring or they are looking for. If you write blogs and you’ve posted almost everything about your life throughout the years of blogging, don’t forget to state it in the résumé as clear as possible!

From your blog, your future employers would have prior judgment and views about whom they’ll be considering to hire or what type of employees they’ll be dealing with. This is most true for jobs that are related to using the internet in their business. Internet is nowadays a/the tool for success for most of professional works and workers to enlarge their network and market. So for future employees, blog will be the extended form of résumé instead! Compilations of certificates alone, I think in the future, would not be enough to lift up the value of your résumé.

In the other hand, for those who don’t write blog, they can just bluff out by saying they are this and that in the résumé, which have no proof of they are so and so. But with blog, it could be the tool to prove that you are really actually so and so as what stated in your résumé, from which employers could judge by themselves for their truth through online. Words alone might be enough, but pasting pictures of yours in the posts will tell more than thousands of words!

So, start writing blog now and show the world that you have a great live to tell about. Then, one day you can say:

Hey employer, see my blog. Just give it a pay of visit and see and I’m sure you’ll never regret taking me as your future employee!

Go blogging and promote yourself!

Szakif's Blog 3rd Year Anniversary Testimonials

Do you see a new panel in the center bar? I open the bar for the best 3 wishes forwarded to me in the comment room for this post. "Best" here would mean anything that might positively or negatively touch my heart. Be sincere and truthful! I am open for critics and comments for the betterment of my way of presenting this blog.

For a start, I put this first one from Nino, the winner for the Quiz last time.

encik zaki requested me to write a testimonial for his blog. aku sangat lah takde idea sebenarnye. but what can i say is, zaki's blog has changed me from an individual who doesn't read blogs, to an individual who does read blogs! duh~ his entries are so original, selambe, gile2, beneficial, and packed with knowledge. i like his style of writing entries, by putting(sometimes related and sometimes not) pictures and videos, oh and also putting up contests for his loyal readers(sbb aku ade menang arituh ). now you can see me checking out his blog everyday. adoh zaki, ko dah jadi salah satu sebab buat aku duduk depan laptop. haha whatever it is, keep on blogging till u can't blog! cuz ur the man. ROCK ON!

Please people, I need your sincere comments/testimonials. You may be anonymous if you would like to.

To help you out, you may start your comments with these:

  • What I love the most about this blog is...
  • What I hate the most about this blog is...
  • I think you have to improve in...
  • or such...

But please never ask me to stop blogging, because simply it won't be happening in the nearest years. :)

Who Deserves This?

Who'll get this award from me? Anyway, thanks Emiratez for this award. T_T

Argh... I'm so blur who to choose because to me all my readers are highly valued, be they write blog or not.

Ok let's define "gila" so that it'll be clear who and why I choose these bloggers and give them this award.

  1. Gila in the sense that she could bear the pain she's suffering from, from the day she was diagnosed until the day of post-surgery i.e. now and yet she's still positive and strong. Read her journey through the suffering in her blog. It's really inspiring for healthy people like us who usually take advantage of our health. Gila ah ko As!
  2. Gila in the sense she would and could entertain my craziness in this blog of mine, and also in her own blog. Not only that, she must be crazy spending the break at home and home only that she writes her daily activities in her blog to fill in the hours, intending not let boredom to surround her. Gila ah ko Liyana!
  3. Gila in the sense that she is admitting something BIG is going to happen in her life but she's yet to choose or not to choose to go for it. All these are written in her blog. Let's wait what's that going to be and let's pray the best for her future. Gila ah ko Kema!
  4. Gila in the sense that he has been really committed with the community blog (IIUMBloggers.com), as well as his own blog that is very informative and not to mention very attractive. Gila ah ko Adlan! No, this is not because I got present from him recently. Huhu~

Those whom I didn't choose, don't be angry with me, but with them. Huhu~

The Winner is Nino!

Congratulations to Nino for answering the quiz in previous post correctly.

Do you know how she did it?

What if you try answer this question instead: Where was the picture above taken?

Tell me the answer and how you did it. Nino is not allowed, because she knows the technique. Hehe...

Info: The above picture is the only one taken by using phone camera. The rest pictures were taken by digital camera. None of them was captured by using DSLR, because simply I don't have one. Hehe~

I'm dreaming to buy one soon, but how soon? Let's think about getting married first before buying the DSLR camera. Lalala~

Jangan Masuk Blog!

Aa aaah Zaki, off record ok. Jangan masuk blog~

Nanti kalau benda ni kecoh aku tahu la nak tengok kat blog siapa!

Pengumuman ye. Semua gambar adalah simpanan peribadi. Jangan masuk blog.

Eeeeehh... Takut aku nak cakap depan Zaki. Nanti masuk blog.

Fine... they look at me when it comes to blogging and spreading hot news. Haih~
But, doesn't that mean I am hot also? Owh thank you. Appreciate that.

Blogging is a Kind of Therapy

I can write two posts per day during the examination period.

I hardly can write as such when it's not in the said period.

I felt relaxed and I enjoyed when writing.

Verdict: Blogging can reduce tension during examination period.

What Type of Blog Reader are You?

There are 2 types of blog readers:

One for those who secretly read our blogs or also known as silent readers, and two for those who have no problem to admit, “Hey, I read your blog!”

For the first type, they digest what they read from the blogs without any intention to expose their existence behind the screen. They prefer to keep what they read to themselves without trying to expand the discussion to a broader view. It’s either they don’t like to use the keyboard (read: lazy) or they have no comments to speak out. They just read, or just see the pictures and that’s it, thanks. Some are even afraid if the writer knows that they read his blog for some personal reasons.

My advice for this type: if you’re comfortable with being silent reader, go on. I have no problem with it. Huhu~

For the second type, they read, they digest and lastly they leave comments. Some do not leave any comments or footprints in the blog but do not have problem to admit that they read the blog to the writer. Even some bring the topic to further discussion outside the blog.

My advice for this type: I appreciate that you read my blog, and I’ll even appreciate it more if you discuss more of what have been discussed in my blog. Yey!

In my case, the most common question I got regarding my blog is: STBB tu apa sebenarnye? Haih~ Penat jugak nak jelaskan kat semua orang kan? :P

Should I Trust Nuffnang?

Statistics at 9 am.

Statistics at 3 pm.

I checked the statistics of visits to this blog of mine everyday. I am blog-addict, so what? :P

This morning I checked the statistics was quite shocking, that it showed a sudden increase in the number of visits for yesterday.

Now, afternoon. It's time to get some rest after reading the notes for final exam tomorrow. Then, I happen to recheck the statistics and suddenly the statistics is different from the morning one. How is that possible?

Click the pictures to enlarge.

Nuffnang, I want answer please~

New Blogger Mate

In last STBB entry I revealed someone will be involving in blogging world soon, and very soon he has established his blog and altered everything and you may see it by clicking the above picture.

He's a junior of mine with nickname Aumaan-Anubis. He's strong in characters and stands and you'd certainly like to know him once he starts talking about his background because to me his life's color is sooo unbeatable-ly colorful. I think I'm exaggerating here, eh? Huhu~

So, I wish you, Danial Goon all the best (eheh.. can't use the other term because he doesn't like it) with the blogging world because once you start blogging, that means you are ready to share your thoughts with the world. Therefore, you also need to get ready to encounter many disagreements and clash of ideas with your blog readers. In real life in fact we have many of those, not only in blogging world. So try to deal with them wisely, ok? :)

Way to go bro!
