Don't Eat and Drink!


Besides avoiding rice from my daily meal, I have another secret of maintaining my body weight.

I don’t drink right after taking meals.

Yes, it’s right. Through practice, I’ve gained a mechanism in my eating habit not to ask for immediate water need right after eating and during eating.

The reason is simple. We got this kind of gastric acid in our stomach with specific concentration to digest everything that has gone through the esophagus. If we change the concentration by mean of diluting the acid by drinking right after eating, how would the digestion be properly done?

In short, to let the stomach does its function properly, don’t eat and drink on the spot.

For guys, this is a good tip to avoid from getting distended stomach (read: buncit). Hehe... Ya, I mean, seriously!

In my case, it’s very common if you do not see me with any glass of drink when having my meal. It’s either I postpone drinking by taking away a drink, or I didn’t order for any drink. I will drink at least 30 minutes after I finish eating.

Guys, this simple tip would be very useful for our health and body and you can start from today. Practice makes perfect, isn’t it? And on my behalf, I practice what I preach.

COOL...I DEFINITELY AGREE WIF YA...BEEN THINKING ABOUT THE REASON WHY AREN'T WE ALLOWED TO GULP ON LIQUID RIGHT AFTER MEAL..MAKE SENSE!!!...IT WILL CHANGE THE PH OF THE STOMACH AND INTERRUPT ITS ACIDITY THUS..INTERFERE WIF DA EFFECIENCY...brilliant BRAIN SMART A$$:P

Same like akak!!!tapi kalau dah dahaga sgat..akak just take air suam..tapi minum dlm keadaan yg little.
after 1/2 hours..barulah minum lagi.

air gas & air yg berais..mudahkan perut mjadi BOROIII...huhukk

psstt..kalau kwan blanja akak nasi campur..riak muka mereka mcm kecik ati bila akak pilih air suam.
so my reason is..nak bagi jimat duwiiitt dia..errr..ok ke jwab mcm tu;)

nasihat saye, kita masing2 ade pendirian masing2. jangan kerana nak sedapkan hati kawan kita terpaksa gadaikan ketepikan prinsip kite. cumenye, kite kena jelaskan dengan baik dan lembut la apa yang kite percaya dan berpegang kepada. insha Allah kawan2 yang memahami akan menerima pendirian kite..

aku rasa macam merapik je teori ko. sbab makanan akan stay dalam perut at least 2 jam utk dicerna. at least. kita hanya akan jd gemok bila ada fat yg deposited kan kat lapisan greater omentum aka perut. jd kita hny jd gemuk bila mknn yg byk lemak, dan kita xmembakar lemak yg berlebihan (xbersenam). lgpon, kalo dia gnggu proses digestion (yg ak rs mmg xkan ganggu pon), dia xkan mnjadikan gemuk. gemuk = fat yg byk. utk fat yg byk de dlm badan, mknn tu perlu dicerna spenuhnya. so ak rasa teori ko ni salah la kot. mlaenkan ko de sumber rujukan yg kukuh..tu ak xtau la. tp pe yg ak blaja.. bnda ni tade kaitan. mcm mitos2 mlayu laen.. mandi waktu mlm = pneumonia, mandi tym peluh = panau.

knapa bila minum air gas, jd gemuk? sbab air gas byk gula.. gula akn ditukar jd lemak. tp air sejuk xtau plak. setau saya air sejuk elok. dan nabi sndiri suka minum air yg sejuk. dan de konsep terapi yg meminta kita berendam dlm air yg penuh dgn ais.

in add to, ak rs minum air tym mkn pon penting gak. utk mlancarkan pergerakan bolus. at least.

kadang2 de teori yg kata, minum air byk2 jd gemok. ni ak tentang sekerasnya. gemuk hny leh disbabkan oleh lemak dan lemak sahaja. minum air byk2 lg bagus.:)

ksimpulannya, utk elak jd gemok, lemak yg kita ambil, perlu dipakai spenuhnya. maknanya, kalo de yg berlebihan, kita bakar lemak tu dgn cara buat cardio (jogging, cycling, skipping, boxing). tp part bakar ni besenya yg mnyebabkan manusia putus asa nak kurus. bygkn, dlm setin air gas de 1200 kalori. kalo kita joging slama 2jam pon, kita hny akan bakar 1000kalori. so, do ur math. nasehat ak, kurgkn mknn bergula dan berlemak. mknn mngikut diet yg seimbang. means, bukn kurgkn mkn, tp mkn mngikut amount or portion yg sebetolnya. ssuai dgn keperluan badan (atlet vs common ppl).

wah.. da lame ko tak mengomel kat sini nih. bagus2..

what can i say, itu la sains. lain penyelidik, lain pulak hasil dapatan kajiannye. apa yang aku utarakan ni adalah dalam bentuk yang orang2 'ajam boleh fahami, dan apa yang aku percaya boleh dipraktikkan dan mendatangkan hasil.

the same goes to research yang kate kafein tu baik kesihatan, ada juga yang kate kafein tidak baik. so mane satu yang nak diikut?

berbalik kpd topik eat and drink, pada aku itulah yang aku put faith to. memang benar kegemukan berpunca drpd lemak, dan antara yang boleh menyumbang kepada perkumpulan lemak ialah disebabkan oleh sistem digesi yang kurang sempurna dek tabiat pemakanan yang tidak mengikut nasihat pengkaji.

apa yang aku sampaikan dan amalkan ini ialah apa yang aku baca, aku fahamkan, aku percaya, aku amalkan, aku nampak hasilnya, dan aku sampaikan kepada orang lain.

but this is not absolute tau, ni hanyalah nasihat, sebab akupun takde la strict sangat sampai takkan minum langsung pas makan. kekadang perlu gak nak basahkan tekak masa makan, tapi pada kadar yang terhad.

macam2 kajian sains ni yang hasilnya macam2, dan terpulang balik kpd kita nak ikut yang mana.

x..maksud ak..bnda ni cam xlogik pon. kalo ko minum lepas 30minit makan, pe bezanya dgn minum masa makan? sbab makanan akn stay dlm perot utk jngka masa yg pjg. lgpon, parietal cell dgn g cell akan sntiasa merembes HCL dgn gastric juice, bg mmastikan pH perut dlm keadaan yg optimum. ak rasa mustahil utk air tu mngurangkan acidity perot.

bab kafeine plak.. ak rs kafeine mmberi kbaikan dan kburukan. so bnda tu bukn lah masalah nak ikot yg mana.. tp nk tnjukkan substance tu ada kbaikan dan kburukan. mcm rokok. de baek, de burok. tp part2 saintifik cam pnjelasan trhadap kaedah xminum masa makan, perlu dijelaskn dr segi logiknya. dari segi sains nya.

mungkin badan ko jd kurus sbab ko mngurangkan pngambilan carb (yg sgt banyak dr nasi) dan mungkin ko bersenam byk. mungkin xde kaetan lg sg dgn amalan xminum masa mkn. mknanya u cannot b sure that this thing works.

ak xmnolak spenuhnya idea ni. juz ak rs pnjelasan perlu disertakan dgn bukti yg lebih konkrit. dan ak xnampak kekonkritan itu.

nanti eh aku cari bukti tuh. pasal aku buat mende ni bukan baru2 ni je, tapi aku bace ntah bila ntah tapi da lame ah, dan pada aku drpd segi logiknya, boleh pakai ah. aku bace pun, kat buku, bukan internet, so to find the source again cam takleh nak bagi sekang gak. kena google :D

and most importantly i found that drinking tea is actually encouraged after taking meal! wah! but still it says no scientific studies have been extensively made to prove it.

but that applies to drinking tea je ah. minuman lain aku tak tahu :D

and banyak lagi sebenarnye, itu pun aku baru sampai ke page 8 carian google aku. :D

tapi aku maseh takmo minum pas makan, pasal pas da kurus sket ni aku memang cepat kenyang. so kalo aku bantai minum, mau kembung perut aku. hu~

by Chia Joo Suan.

i think she wrote something about drinking tea after meal is not good. (if i'm not mistaken). btw,that book's really something if u love health facts related to food.n it's written by a malaysian. =)

in the same source that i read and referred to for the same tips, it said drinking tea after meal is not good also. if i'm not mistaken it's because tea contains a specific chemical that may interrupt digestion of proteins in our meal. hm.. another point to check..

Hmmm...interesting. But i'm not very interested to know the details, unless u come with a scientific proof. As for now, I've been practising not taking any drinks while having my meal, but I take my drink right after it. However, from now on, I'd like to practise the tip that szakif presented in this entry :D coz it sounds logical enuf to me (^_^) Go go Szakif!

wah! alang2 ko da praktis tak minum mase makan, baik ko ajar plak eating habit ko untuk tangguhkan minum tu dulu.

sekang ni kite (baca: kita) maseh bujang maybe tak nampak effect jadi buncit kot? kang da kawen kang, biasenye orang laki ni senang nak naik. ok. aku da terlalu jauh ni. walhal studi ade setahun lagi, sebok fikir pasal kawen.

tapi aku rase aku memang pernah dengar ah drpd mulut ko, mase yang kite iftar same2 kat midvalley tahun lepas. ko ade cakap pasal ni. dan aku juga memang ade terbaca kat majalah. tapi tak pasti which comes first. hu~
