Angklung Performances during Taaruf Week

These are videos on our performance during last Taaruf Week for the intake of Semester 2 2006/2007. All these while i kept saying that i joined Angklung Club activities without featuring our performance. Now I want you all to listen to the songs sung by angklungs. Enjoy!

New Life at Kuantan

It was my first experience driving car inter-country-ly with two and half hour nonstop journey (with only 4-hour sleep preparation the night before). The direction to the campus wasn't that hard as i thought ealier plus that Jay and Asmawi were with me to read the signboards for me.

I don't have to tell what we did after we arrived at the campus with registration and carrying stuffs to the fourth level of the mahallah (now i have reason to do more exercise!), meeting old friends and all. I was quite impressed with the structure of buildings of the mahallah which are a little bit different from those at Gombak campus with open-air cafe, sound-impervious TV room (which means people from the outside cannot hear the sound inside), big size musolla and of course they are surrounded by breath-taking environment.

However, the room is excluded because of the lack of rack to put books and other stuffs. To overcome it, Safwan, Asmawi, Jay and I went out to Giant Kuantan to buy racks. It was a 15-minute driving to the shopping complex from the campus, which means the campus was not that remote as expected plus that the roads in the city are full with traffic lights and one-way roads.

After all, i'm happy to begin new life here after eliminating the prejudices that hounted my mind. Wish me all the best ya?

Angklung Club Performance for Taaruf Week

This time, it's confirmed! No more co-currucular activities in Gombak. Tomorrow I'll be moving to Kuantan. Yesterday was my last activity here - Angklung Performance for Taaruf Week for the intake of Second Semester 2006/2007.

The night was so stressed. Looking at my friends face during the first 30 minutes before we went on-stage triggered my heart-beat almost to the maximum beat. But after that i cooled down because at the back stage, we made joke of each other, made "suara sengau" with Kak Nadia, entertaning others who still felt nervous.

Once we stepped up on the stage, show time! Angklung Club was the first musical group to perform (and in the same time to promote the club to freshies) and we did quite well for Ada Apa Denganmu (barulah aku tahu in English it means What's Wrong with You) and the best for Pandang-pandang Jeling-jeling. To keep the beat on track for angklung to me is quite hard since there were about 20 heads to be synchronized and that's why we missed the beat for the first song. But overall, we've made it! Hooray!

I really wanna mention this . ONE - that Nasyid group is loser! They came late and thus forced the PC to change the schedule on the spot. Not only that, they forgot the lyrics for Iktiraf song, putting the musical groups into chaos, including us - Angklung Club members. Ade orang sebelah aku tak nak main dah note B pasal he totally lost! Haha (matila dia kat sebelah aku lagi sekarang ni).

TWO - silat guys were not gentlemen at all! They saw girls holding heavy musical tools and instruments and what they did was just seeing them without any intention (how do I know? Hehe..) to help. Even there was an incident where the Gamelan instrument fell from the trolly and almost (setelah mendapat mesej daripada si mangsa) hit a girl, and what the-muscled-body-but-empty-in-the-head guys did was just stare and stare.

THREE - Welcome to Thaqif Ilman to Gombak campus. Belajar betul-betul ye dik?!

3 Excellent Moments

One: To Know My Lil' Bro Got 5A's in UPSR
I never expect him to get such an exceptional result but i did hope and pray he will. And with the barakah of du'a from everyone he successfully acheived it. But he did't score too well in PSRA (Penilian Sekolah Rendah Agama) with only 79% but still ok la... Jayyid jidan is good enough to admit him to SAMBEST (he's so eager to study there, really!)

Two: Angklung Club's Induction Course at Janda Baik, Pahang
The beautiful scene of the camp really attracted me, so did the program where the ukhuwah among all members of Angklung Club were tightened more strongly like it can never be broken.

Three: Angklung Performance at KL Hilton
Great hotel, great meals and great performance by Angklung Club! Clap clap clap!!! We got compliments from the audience (except from that deaf Akak waiter).

Safwan's Open House

Open house or Rumah Terbuka – a compulsory term to come out after raya period. An occasion where people gather together and meet each other like no boundary exists between them.

Last Sunday Safwan invited us to his not-so-opened open house. His odahian members, classmates and colleagues attended this open house with me as tour guider.

The meals – more than any thing that we can adore! Too much and too delicious like no words can describe how delicious they were. He served us Western meals like pizza, macaroni, pasta, fried macaroni and the one and only traditional food tom yam with bihun.

After about one and half hour there, some one suggested going to my home as well, alang-alang dah sampai Banting! So, I agreed and guided them to my house. I only served them with syrup drinks. Plus, they were already full eating like monster kat rumah Safwan. Hohoho... I really had no preparation because the idea was suddenly appeared. Maaf ye Kak Ila, tak singgah rumah akak~

They enjoyed playing and trying my father's band set. Kalau rosak, tau la aku nak point kat sape! Hehe~ Barula aku tau my father now has two band sets!

Sangat seronok (dengan syarat melupakan sebentar paper Microbiology).

Bermandi-manda di Ulu Yam

This is a very short note on our visit to Ulu Yam.

The fact is that some of us have done all papers for the final exam, and some others like me, having a big gap between the second last paper and the last one, which will be held on 15th of November. So we decided to go to Ulu Yam, which is located about 20 km from UIA Gombak campus and it is a 30-minute travel with moderate speed. (Well... I’m “pemandu berhemah” the fact is)

Also, the fact is that we went there on Friday, so we limited our time up to 11 am only after reaching there at 8.45 am. Can you imagine how cold the river is that time? Grrrrrr... Tapi best! I could feel all tense of examination in my body were gone with the rive flow.

Lastly, the fact is that I need to be clear that I’ve broke my own promise to be hibernating from doing any entry during this exam period. Keskeskes... Biaq pi la~

I know I know… I’ve mentioned that I’m hibernating, but if there is anything that attracts me to write, I will do. Suka hati kepala tengkorak aku la!

I hope that people who read this blog have already known how maniac I am on cats. And this is all about cats!

The story goes like this. Just right when I arrived at my room last week after hari raya holiday, few kittens ran to feet. Comel sangat-sangat! Lahir masa raya haritu agaknya. To shorten the story, I feed them everyday besides their regular milk-course from their mother la kan... Sanggup aku keluar ke Giant to buy Frieskies and of course I spent about RM15 for it, just for the 5-siblings kittens. In addition (English skema tak hingat), I planned to bring some of them back home after this.

But yesterday, I didn’t find them. Don’t know where they are. I tried to find them in every corner of my block, but they weren’t there, only the mother cat was there.

And today everything was revealed. Makcik cleaner buang! I asked her directly if she has any idea where the kittens are. She replied, “Makcik dah buang dik. Asek berak je.” Wuuuu... How sad...

Tapi memang pun, I pity the makcik cleaner to clean all those droppings which actually out of her jobscope. Pasrah je la... And I also pity the mother cat because she kept meowing all day long, screaming for her lovely kittens.

Yang ni yang aku paling berkenan. Paling comel...

Paling nakal, so i named him "Nuck-Kull".
