It's not All About Me

Maybe to new readers, you still don't get the nature of my writing. Give yourselves some time to learn the trick behind my writing. It's not always all about me when I write about something.

What usually I aim when I post entries in this blog is for readers to connect what they read to themselves. For example, referring to the previous entry, it's not all about me whom involve in such instances. You may yourselves connect to the entry if you find anything related to you. Don't you?

I got few messages through YM and in fact through the comment room asking what really happened behind the scene that made me write such so-called full-of-emotion entry. Well, to me it depends on how you read it. That's the problem with words, they lack emotion. The emotion comes from readers and it varies on how they take it.

You like me to write such thing more and more, or not?

Kawan yang Profesional

Aku nak menulis dalam bahasa Melayu. Sebab banyak yang buat perangai macam ni, orang-orang yang berdarah Melayu.

Kau tahu apa itu profesional?
Kau juga tahu apa itu kawan?
Ok. Bagus.

Jangan kau ingat kawan-kawan kau suka kalau kau lambat. Kau suka ke kalau kau kena buang masa menunggu orang lain? Kau tahu tak penantian itu satu penyeksaan?

Contoh dua: Kamu tinggal serumah.

Tapi kau buat pejabat kau macam hotel. Suka-suka kau nak keluar masuk bila-bila masa, padahal tiada kaitan dengan kerja pun. Kau ingat ketua kau tu tunggul?

Contoh lima: Kau pegang rahsia besar syarikat. Syarikat percaya dengan kau. Tapi kau tamak, kau pecah amanah, kau bocorkan rahsia syarikat. Habis bankrup syarikat kau kerjakan. Sebab apa kau buat macam tu? Sebab kau memang tak boleh dipercayai! Rahsia-rahsia kecil pun susah nak pegang, apatah lagi rahsia-rahsia besar?

Most Common Question when You are about to Graduate

Lepas ni, nak buat apa?

I would answer:

Tolong sama-sama berdoa semoga urusan kita dipermudahkan ye. :)

But I want to admit: It's hard for me to leave Kuantan.

STBB: Belajar Memandu

I trained Danial to drive car last Monday and Tuesday. Not only him, but his friend, Teha also joined us during the training. From my observation, they were both doing very well and they could get the practical part really fast.

Yesterday, when we went for a dinner, suddenly he cursed the car in front of us for doing a slight mistake. Shocked, I asked why he did that and he answered: "Aku tengah belajar nak marah orang buat salah bila memandu. Macam ko"

I replied, "Sabar weh... Syllabus tu belom sampai lagi. Nanti aku ajar la"

Err... Abang borek, adik rintik?

STBB: Senario Lewat Petang

Aku harap kamu pernah baca entri Senario Lewat Malam di blog Penagih Dadah sebelum kamu baca entri di bawah.

Atau Maghrib
terpulang mahu pilih yang mana
ade aku kesah?

Kang batal wuduk aku"

"Baik lah..."
mereka menjawab.

Keluar idea mahu membuat STBB
Batal jugak wuduk aku~"
diikuti tawa mereka berdua

Tiba-tiba, si anak-Cina datang kepada aku
memegang tangan aku
"Aku Cina"
katanya

Sekejap. Ni siapa yang perempuan nih?

Earth Hour: What to do during the Hour?

Next Saturday at 8.30 pm until 9.30 pm, everything will be dark with respect to the Earth Hour campaign. But that's up to you: to follow or not, pasal.... ade aku kesah?

But what to do during the one hour? Do you just want to stay alone in your room wasting the hour? Come on... Do something and don't forget to drag your friends together !

Here are some suggestions:
  1. Go out to the town and see the dark city which you don't usually see everyday. It might be scenic in a way I suppose.
  2. Play with candles and take pictures like what we did last time at February 2006. Links: [1] [2].
  3. Sit in a circle and play Spirit of the Coin. Ok jangan buat. Aku tipu je. Syirik tu.

Aku Terkena Panggilan Hangit!

Sedang aku membuang masa bersama-sama kawan-kawan sebilik ku yang sedang melalak-lalak, aku menerima satu panggilan.

Weh! Senyap weh. Ada call ni! Kot-kot daripada Mara ke, Jobstreet ke...

Trooot trooot....

(Suara lelaki. Garau.

(Aku dah syak dah. Aku layan je)
Nak akaun bank ape ye?

Akaun Maybank ada?

Maybank saye takde akaunnye.

Apa dia?

Saya takde kawan same-same dengan saye sekarang ni...

(Panggilan ditamatkan)

Kau ingat aku mudah sangat percaya dengan kau?

Aku kembali kepada kawan-kawanku.

Weh.

Would You Get Up at 4 am Just to Climb a Hill?

Date: Today
Time: 4.30 am - 7.30 am
Location: Bukit ape-ntah-lupa-namanya Panorama, Sungai Lembing. Next to Muzium Sungai Lembing.

The only best picture I captured in the dark, around 6 am.

The night was full of laughter but deep inside, maybe no one knew, it just made me more sad - sad to leave the campus.

Thanks for my juniors for organizing the Future Scientist Appreciation Night to celebrate us who'll be graduating soon. It's been great to spend the joy, laughter and challenges with you all throughout the years in the campus.

Tips-tips Memasuki Pertandingan Memasak

Love is Beautiful

There were 3 of us in a bookshop.

While waiting for him with his thing, she and I went to separate sections in the bookshop.

Suddenly she came to me, passing a book entitled "Hikmah Cinta". She left me without a word to other section.

I was speechless, acted like nothing happened.

I resumed looking at the books in the section until I saw a book entitled "Kau Tetap Yang Satu". I passed that to her and left her without a word to different section.

Owh love....

KOS Starz - View from the Jury's Seat

Although I was just sitting with other judges observing their performances, it was indescribably tiring.

Here are some general comments about the event:
  1. Bringing lyrics in singing competition is highly not recommended. That shows you are not really prepared for your performance. Worse, you bring lyrics but you still forget the lyrics. Duh~
  2. No discussion or talking with other members in the group during performance. That would deduct the mark as it shows your performance is not well planned.
  3. If you cannot sing, that means you cannot sing. Don't humiliate yourselves in front of the people with your bad singing. Ok, I mean really bad singing. Enough said.
  4. Know your limit. Not all people have the pitch as high as Shah from Inteam. So if you cannot reach his pitch, pick other song.
  5. No jeans in nasyid competition people. A big NO.
  6. Making jokes during your performance might help, or might not help. But I see in most of the time especially for nasyid competition in which they sing songs that praise the God and the Prophet for example, it is not necessary. Save that for other time. Be professional.
  7. Do not interpret your nervousness into something that is annoying. Just behave and sing naturally. Look at the audience in front of you. Jangan pandang bawah je dik oi!
Some interesting facts about KOS Starz last night:
  1. Most of the songs that they sang were familiar to my ears especially Inteam's songs. That helped a lot for me to enjoy their performance besides the fact that most of them couldn't carry the songs well.
  2. The acting by the SCIENCESS Exco members was worth a standing ovation but not just yet when they said to be continued. Alaaaa.... Potong a~! Dah best kot!
  3. MC, dia. First performance, dia gak. Second performance, dia lagi.
  4. I got a souvenir. Hehe... Interesting, for me at least. :P

KOS Starz - Advice from a Head of Juries

Yes, I am the head for the juries for tonight's KOS Starz.

Basically, I don't expect too much from the contestants. I don't expect perfection as this is not a singing academy or what not and the contestants are not professional singers. As long as they can perform well with at least an impact to the audience after the performance, that is more than enough.

However, these are the things that they must observe:
  1. Perform professionally. Whatever happens on the stage during their performance, they must have full control of themselves and the ambience in the auditorium right at the time their name is called and once they leave the stage.
  2. They have to portray a performance which is in accordance to the lyrics that they are singing.
  3. Self-confidence!
That's basically it. Easy right? But it's surely not as easy. Let see how they perform tonight.

Szakif is a Jury for KOS Starz

KOS Starz is a nasyid competition organized by SCIENCESS in conjunction with the Islamic Culture Festival (ICF) during past few days which I enjoyed so much. I was invited to be the jury for the competition, as in American Idol. You know what I mean? I have to give comments and critics right after each performance! That's a huge job to do!

I'll write what I expect from the contestants after Jumaat prayer. Till then, students and all from IIUM Kuantan Campus are invited to come to the event. 8pm at KOS Main Auditorium today (Friday). See you!

Mulut Orang

Balik rumah haritu, mak aku sebok tanya aku bila nak ada makwe.

Ha? Serius? Ada kau tanya kenapa dia sebok-sebok tuh?

Takde la. Kat tempat kerja dia, ada sorang workmate dia discovered anak nya dah umur dekat nak 30 tahun tapi takde makwe lagi. Siasat punya siasat, rupa-rupanya gay!

Na'uzubillah. So that's why mak ko risaukan kau. Bagus la. Itu tanda dia concernkan kau. Haha...!

Tau takpe. Tapi aku tak sedia lagi nak ada komitmen bermakwe-makwe nih. Rimas. I am a bachelor and I love it!

Haha... Dah tu, kau rapat dengan member-member lelaki ko, ko tak takut orang kata kau gay?

Ah! Kalau ikut sangat kata orang, sampai bila pun orang akan mengata. Ada aku kesah diorang nak kata apa? Aku tahu aku tak buat benda salah, aku tak buat benda berdosa, cukuplah.

Setuju, tak hidup kita dek kata-kata orang beb!

Update: Due to misunderstanding of the above text, I would like to clarify that the above conversation is partially fictional. No name is mentioned that it would be applied to anyone without regard to myself (read: Szakif) directly or indirectly. The most important thing is the content of the story, not the people behind the conversation.

2 Danial

Both have no blood relationship with me, but both are close with me.

I still remember the time when I knew Danial's name, spontaneously I said, "Hey, nama anak buah aku!"

The first Danial, who is always in my heart. Adopted from a broken family, raised by my adopted older brother and his wife. Last week when I went back home, he opened the door for me with his ever cute face that made me forgot the tiring 8-hour journey. I am grateful Allah wrote in His Book that we have met each other in this life. I wish you'll grow up to your best with the best guidance from your parents.

The other Danial, who is most of the time seen with me. People said we are like siblings, which I have no problem to accept it. The same goes to him. We can always discuss range of topics and most of the time we share the same thoughts. I am grateful Allah wrote in His Book that we have met each other in this life. I wish you all the best in your life and to my observation you have great talents and abilities to be a great leader. Insha Allah I'll keep all that we've shared.

When I am home, I got Danial.
When I am in Kuantan, I also got Danial.
Both Danials do make my days.

Suatu Transformasi Akan Berlaku

It's nothing about AF7 just so you know...

It's just that, well...

If previously I used to using HP's Compaq laptop, now I'm making myself familiar with ASUS.

If previously I used to using Windows XP Professional, now I'm learning to use Windows Vista.

All these take time while the fact is I don't have much time. You know~ Zaki's always busy... Duh~

STBB: Behind the Scene

I think I've learnt a lot from writing the STBB entries...

I was at one stage of age felt that I got too easily irritated. Not only that, I was too defensive also. U played me, u served your right – I’d pay back! That was who Zaki once upon a time. Until a friend of mine made a statement:
“Aku dah tak nak la cakap dengan ko la camni. Gurau sikit pun tak boleh!”

Well, that again got me irritated.

That’s basically it. I don’t like to be too much revealing about who I was years ago. To relate this with STBB, it was where I introspected myself: why shouldn’t take it positively? Why shouldn’t I take joke as joke, not more than that that it would hurt my heart?

Then slowly I changed myself, the way I perceived words from people. I tried to be more positive and open to people’s difference.

If previously I responded STBB’s with a broken heart, but now smile always decorates my lips.

Now relate this with the symptoms of STBB infection:
Among others, it may cause reddened face, acute heartache, burnt ears and their internal parts, hypertension and high blood temperature (but not up to feverish point). Besides that, to certain people with disordered psychological conditions, the signs and symptoms are completely different. Among others, they are hyperhydrated gum, dislocated jaw bones, and to a greater extent; temporary loss of memory, uncoordinated physical movements and loss of body balance. In rare cases, no signs or symptoms claimed.

Note the word disordered psychological conditions. Huhu… That’s who I am now. :P

Belanja Makan

If I list down all names who have treated me meal, along this semester, I think I'll miss some and that would hurt them. Huhu~ Seriously, there are too many people who have been so nice to me by treating me lunch, dinner or as simple as a piece of bread :)

Never mind. My point is, from my observation treating people with foods is one of the best ways to connect people.

While we're on the way to the restaurant, we talk.
While waiting for the foods to be served, we talk again.
While eating we also talk.
After eating, everyone is happy and we talk again.

Talk here covers everything that describes people knowing each other through direct conversation, face to face which to me is still the best way to communicate. Yes we have Facebook, YM and all, but can we share foods while using them? No.

Don't you agree?

Milo Fuze & Treats of the Semester

One

My entry is in the first page of the Most Popular Picture in the Milo Fuze Energizing Your Day Contest. Can I win the contest? I wrote an entry about the contest last time in this blog. Help me by sending more comments people!

Two

Along this semester, I've been treated (read: belanja makan) many times by many people.

Are you among those who have treated me? Nope? Care to be the next one? Huhu~

Will be updated.
